Bob Forlenza

Managing Partner

Bob is a founding partner of Spring Lake Equity Partners. Prior to founding Spring Lake, Bob served as Managing Partner of Tudor Investment Corporation’s private equity group, the predecessor to Spring Lake, for nearly two decades. He has served on the Board of Directors of numerous companies including Art Technology Group, Classic Sports Network, Wired, and Intelligrated. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors of Professional Trading Solutions (PTS), SmarterHQ and PhoenixET. Prior to joining Tudor, he was a Vice President at Carlisle Capital, a leveraged buyout firm based in Boston where he played a key role in the acquisition and management of several plastics companies which were consolidated to form Carlisle Plastics, a diversified plastics company that was taken public on the New York Stock Exchange.

Bob was also an executive with the American Management Company, a start-up software company which developed and marketed systems management software for mini-computers. Bob initially served as Chief Financial Officer and was later appointed Chief Executive Officer and led a successful effort to sell the company to a strategic acquirer. Bob was also a management consultant with Bain & Company at which he worked in a variety of industries including communications services, financial services and information technology. Bob earned a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Administration from Washington and Lee University.

Carmen Scarpa

Managing Partner

Carmen is a founding partner of Spring Lake Equity Partners. Prior to founding Spring Lake, Carmen served as a Partner in Tudor Investment Corporation’s private equity group, the predecessor to Spring Lake, since 1996. Carmen has focused on growth companies in the software, internet/digital media, business services and financial technologies sectors. He currently sits on the boards of Astadia, Forefront Telecare, NetBase Quid, Meteor Learning, and One Door. Prior investments where Carmen served as a director or was actively involved include Art Technology Group, Dorado Systems, Chordiant Software, GAIN Capital, ShoeBuy, TractManager, Velocity, Vurv, and Wimba. Carmen worked previously as an associate at Triumph Capital Group, Inc., a private equity firm in Boston. Prior to that, he was an assistant to the founder and CEO of Boston Concessions Group and was a corporate finance analyst for Drexel Burnham Lambert, Inc. Carmen earned a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in Economics from Harvard University.

Jeff Williams

Jeff is a founding partner of Spring Lake Equity Partners. Prior to founding Spring Lake, Jeff served as a Partner in Tudor Investment Corporation’s private equity group, the predecessor to Spring Lake, since 1999. He has focused on investments in the software, internet infrastructure, cybersecurity and healthcare IT sectors. Jeff currently serves on the boards of InsideView, Forefront Telecare, and is a board observer for Illusive Networks. Prior investments where Jeff served as a director or was actively involved include Remedy Partners, ObserveIT, Sqrrl, Dorado Systems, Plated, NetProspex, Single Digits, Thorne Research, TractManager, Crossbeam Systems, Intelligrated, and Velocity Technology Solutions. Prior to joining Spring Lake Equity Partners he was an associate with Downer & Company, an international mergers and acquisitions firm. Jeff was also a strategic consultant to Oplab, a start-up medical device company. Previous to that he was a financial analyst in the Corporate Finance Department of Fox-Pitt, Kelton Ltd. Jeff earned a Masters in Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, from Yale University.

Dan MacKeigan

Partner

Dan is a founding partner of Spring Lake Equity Partners. Prior to founding Spring Lake, Dan served as a Partner in Tudor Investment Corporation’s private equity group, the predecessor to Spring Lake, since 2000. He has 26 years of technology experience focused on investments in the Software-as-a-Service and internet sectors. Dan currently either serves as a board observer or director on the board of Zylo, One Door, Gravy Analytics, Matrixx Software, and MediaMath. Prior investments where Dan served include BlueConic (a majority acquisition by Vista Equity Partners), ArcSoft (ultimate Shanghai Stock Exchange 688088.SS), Benu Networks (acquisition by Ciena Corporation (NYSE: CIEN), Wimba (acquisition by Blackboard), N2 Broadband (acquisition by Tandberg), Shoebuy (ultimate acquisition by Walmart), and Wavelink (ultimate acquisition by LANdesk). Prior to Tudor Investment Corp., Dan spent three years as a Vice President and Senior Public Equity Research Analyst with Friedman, Billings, Ramsey, a Northern Virginia-based investment bank, focusing on public and private companies in the internet, media, and technology industries. As a public equity analyst in the late 1990s, Dan conducted research on several emerging companies, including America Online, eBay, DoubleClick, and Network Solutions. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Trinity College in Hartford.

Dante Balestracci

Principal

Dante joined the predecessor group to Spring Lake in 2009. He focuses on investments in software and tech-enabled services businesses across a number of verticals, including supply chain and logistics, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity and IoT. Dante is currently a director of Astadia and PhoenixET and was formerly on the board of Single Digits. He was also involved with Spring Lake’s investments in Matrixx, NetProspex, InsideView, and Plated. Prior to joining Spring Lake Equity Partners, Dante worked at William Blair & Company, a middle market investment bank. Dante holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard College.
